This is America. We are Caesar.

Courious. Obama said middle class ends at $150,000 and down in which this bracket of people will receive one form or another of tax breaks. Then he defined rich as anybody making over $250,000. These people he tells us will definately get taxed because he says they can afford it and probably even want to give more of their money to the federal government.

Okay, that's fine, right?

My immediate question, which Dealey made suggestion to: Who are the people between $150,000-$250,000? Why did he omit them? And should we believe that he doesn't intend to raise taxes on that group of people as well?

For those of us in his definition of the middle class, doesn't it almost makes you want to stay right where you are?

My suggestion is give the American people a flat tax rate which would start around 10%. The government could further provide every American with the option to pay 15%, 20%, 25%... 50%... and so on... for those who would like to pay more can then pay more. Especially, those who feel rich enough who feel like they would like to donate more of their money to the federal government. If the government adopted such an idea we would never have to debate taxes again. If the result gave the federal government a smaller budget it would force them to spend the American's people more wisely. If government needed more money this system would force the states to pick up the responsibility for additional spending and pet projects... this would put the focus on state and local officals to spend the people's money on pet projects where there is more accountability.

Render unto Caesar that which belongs to Caesar has been quoted to quiet the low-tax people in the country. But this is America. We are a Democratic-Republic. We are Caesar.  Each of us on the left, right, middle, whereever, make up a piece of Caesar's conscience...
This one says stop the class warefare and give us a system that is more fair and simple.
