God Gives & Takes what is His, and He Is Good

In Response to the comments made on David Limbaugh's column recommending Ravi Zacharias' new book:

If there is a God, the God of the Bible, if He did Create all things including man, then all things belong to Him with which He can do with whatever He wants. And if this is the case then His goodness is not subject to any man's opinion of goodness, right, and wrong... it is uncomfortable I know.

God gave me life.
If God decides to take my life, is he a murderer? Do not all men eventually die?

Is He not the One in control of all life and death? Did I choose my parents or to be born? Do I decide whether I will live to be one hundred or fifty-seven?

Does God not have the right to judge me on His own basis on His own account?
Does God not have the right to judge a group of people?
Did God not give them life?
If my baby dies, is God powerless?
Is He a murderer if He takes it away?

A man is called a murderer because he attempts to play the role of God. Why don't people live to be 120 or even 150 years? Why do some die young and why do some die old? Is that not a judgment that God makes? And yet God has graciously given us doctors and wisdom...

What position am I in to point the finger at God as a murderer for any death?

Though there is one thing I do not feel at liberty to do that other men feel the freedom to do: to make a judgment on God. If I do, does not that make me play the role of God as His superior?

If someone believes that kind of thinking to be naive, then that is what I choose for myself despite that opinion. What is God's opinion?

Many say God does not exist and I wonder if they have stopped to ask him what He thinks of that? I suppose they pray every night that He does not. Has He not been merciful even to those who despise Him? Will physical deeath not come to both those who love God and despise Him?

Don't questions about God's control in matters of life and death suggest that life is sacred? Whether they are short-lived or long-lived, handicapped or capable, that we should value all life as a gift from God? With respect for friend and foe alike? Certainly, when God takes any life it was at His judgment and at His command... whether it happened in the Old Testament or this evening. Who will question Him when that time comes?

It comes to us all...
